It's been a while since I released the Tragedy of Eiko.  I started work in October after the 0.2.0 release of Tsukundere. Hot Spring Mermaid expands my previous work in certain key ares – particularly, there are parts of the scripts and launcher, that I wish to refine for its 0.3.0 release, but it also takes place in the Eikoverse as some dialogue will indicate. Don't worry if you didn't want to stomach the frankly somewhat disturbing themes of that game, Hot Spring Mermaid is more light-hearted.

The main feature in this game is, that you get to play not one, but two(!) cute catgirls. The shy Miki and the… not so shy Rin. And as it's an entry for the Yuri game jam, the entire cast is noticably gay. Although I suppose some people out there will not notice that. As the title implies, the target of their affection becomes a mermaid, that they meet in a hot spring – that's why I love self-describing titles – but given that they're catgirls and mermaids are related to fish, there are some obstacles ahead. It turns out, that this particular mermaid – unlike a certain guilty princess – is not too fond of the idea of aquarian life (to which she counts herself) being ended for the sake of consumption and as a result holds a bit of a fear, that can not be easily overcome.

Hot Spring Mermaid does not yet end with either of the catgirls successfully "catching their prey", but there still lies a story ahead waiting to be told if enough people show interest in it. As a game, it is "complete" in the sense, that it has an ending for the titular encounter, but in my personal opinion there are still many future encounters, that just didn't happen yet.
